BMW 335d Review
BMW has a mission to change this perception and to educate, aware of the benefits of this alternative fuel. To do this, you will bring diesel 3 Series (for the 335d), North America.
Dual turbo 335th is my short list of favorites since last year. Is it really a sports sedan, sport is a rare bird. In 2006, when revised 2007 serial 3, was discovered, many were surprised to see a turbo engine under the hood instead of the traditional filling six in line. Imagine their shock after learning that the same engine bay is now home to a double variable engine turbo diesel!
Public perception
There are, however, reasons for Americans to avoid diesel, apart from factors noisy and nosy. More importantly, the diesel is more expensive to pump.
According bolog Tom, Vice President of Engineering for BMW North America, the common perception of the data pump are not completely accurate. Although there is a tendency for the octane rating than regular diesel, the comparison must be made with an octane fuel, higher premium. “For the performance and emissions compared to diesel premium,” said bolog.
His point is even more interesting when you think someone BMW owner should never look at the price of everything but premium fuel, because they all wanted one BMW.
Bolog also emphasizes that “the high price of diesel and fuel are offset by improved fuel efficiency and increasing the value of recovery. Diesel engines typically experience a longer duration as REV down and diesel is more like gas, so that engines last longer than design. Bolog believe that these short-term and long-term gains are important when considering the benefits that these diesel engines are specially designed to offer.
BMW are very lofty goals for its 335 diesel projects, including the reduction of CO2 emissions and improve fuel economy while maintaining performance and driving pleasure in this process. To build a diesel engine which does not feel like a diesel, piezo injectors can inject up to five times a race, replacing the traditional mechanical units which are less effective and can lose their calibration. Moreover, bi-turbo setup was upgraded for this engine in particular.
The system consists of a small turbo, turbo valve raises important and butterfly valves that allow both small and large turbos or two to run concurrently – which virtually eliminates turbo lag.
Driving do not feel just like a diesel – unless huge amounts of torque. That the 335d does not like 300hp (335th only 265 foals), but due to lack of turbo power and delay low rpm, the 335d bursts of light 425 LB-ft of torque at just 1750 rev / min.
